Atlantis- For the new Member world- BUILDERS NEEDED
« on: May 28, 2012, 06:02:25 am »
Atlantis

Current sponsors: Boorad, dj301, sircy, Dr_Fn_Deo, _Obi_Wan_, KillAndSurf, Techdude, Troddenostrich, Guess_Who
Builders: Bhoughton, Duinis, Mini25252525, YangusTheGreat, ShadowPKC, Troddenostrich, MikeWeirauch, Interbane, Jettman23, Alec2435, lanthus20
Diamond ps so far: 3
Enchanters: ShadowPKC, Techdude, Jettman23
Money donators: dj301 (10k) D00MKNlGHT (5k) YangusTheGreat (10k) deanthebean (5k) LuckyCharmsNow (5k) pew1998 (20k) Jettman23 (15k)
So I came up with the idea that no other player (I think) has dared to voice.
Atlantis.
An underwater city, encased in glass. I'm thinking of making this a reality, in the middle of the ocean, in the upcoming Member world.
But for this, I'd need a lot of sponsors, for glass, Aqua Affinity armour, etc.
I plan to make it about 200x200. This means around 5-6 diamond ps.
Tell me what you think!
EDITS:
-I now have 64 stacks of glass, or a stack of stacks (XD) from Sircy. Main thing I need now for Atlantis is willing builders, potioneers for underwater breathing potions, and people who will donate diamond ps.
- Zen00, O_Midgetized and Dr_Fn_Deo are now all pitching in to lead this project.
-5k for a reservation in the city, 10k for a large plot in the middle of a dome.

You will need 25 diamond Ps. No 5 or 6.
This idea was in my mind, but considering that I will quit minecraft for a while, I rejected the idea, too.

You are definitely not the first to think of the idea. Many had given up though because breathing and funding was a problem.

If I have a chance to log in the next few weeks, ill be glad to fund it a little.

Good luck on the project!

I'm going to /sethome in the middle of the ocean, so I don't lose my items. As to Deej, thanks :P
Zen, is it possible to convince you to join with me in the current world, or should I wait until the Member world, and join up with you and Midgetized?

For a easily griefable project like this, I suggest waiting.

Heh you should definiitly protect it. Just one block gone from the dome and the whole thing will flood...

Well, it sounds like a good project I'm thinking about making something like that on SP except it's a big grey dome....in the middle of land...

Sounds like he never did much with it, nor finished it.

This would be a much larger project than what he was talking about.

Yeap i  had bad luck with that one  :(....just make sure that noone build city over u'r Atlantis. As for breathing underwater...i made lot of air pocket underwater where i could stop for air (mostly just two blocks of dirt vertical and two pieces of ladders on blocks),it helps a lot but building underwater isnt easy,it takes lot of time and getting ppl to work on city would be fair start-considering size of it (alone would take century to build)
P.S: I really hope u make it happen and that noone ruin it with some above water build.Good Luck
(i wish to see atleast one huge underwater city with squid neighbours  ;D )
i'l try to donate or atleast gather resources when i'm online but since i got lot of work i cant spend much time in game  :(

Air pockets can be made with two glass panes.
BT5, I'd only need 5-6 to protect the glass, and not the actual city, and put a little trapdoor where people can enter from the top of the dome, with a ladder down.

Dude, Wont be the glass as a semi-cycle?
Anyway, you will see how many ps you will need.
Good luck on that.
