The ways - a fast way to travel

What are the ways:

The ways are a fast way to travel in the book series The wheel of time, I decided to reproduce such a system in the minecraft nether. Using the ways you travel 8 times as fast as in the overworld. You enter the ways trough a waygate (portal). There are currently 7 working waygates, go to /home zwaan111 ways to go to one. the ways are located in the new guest world nether and the current existing waygates are north and west of the spawn.

1 = the kingdom of the forest elves waygate
2 = swampy swamp waygate
3 = whatehfuh's castle waygate
4 = forest ravine waygate
5 = snowy hill waygate
6 = flying castle waygate
7 = giant water slide waygate

I used to be really into WoT back in the days when people played MUDs (yup I'm that old) and I think this is a really nice project!  I actually told Zwaan it was like the ways in WoT before he told me it was, that's how much it reminded me about it. Good job so far, keep it up!

Yeah I noticed an end portal popped up right outside of my castle (northern mountains) so I started checking it out. Very cool. I used to read Robert Jordan back in the day, I think I got to like book 4 or 5 but never continued.

I went through the portal today and got fired upon by a ghast. It destroyed a block of the portal and now its shut off. Im trapped in between worlds man! Im stuck in the ways! I hear shit creeping up on me everywhere but I never see them! *Ahem* sorry, anyways... i would put up a little higher fence of nether brick to prevent that from happening again.

ill relight the portal, everyone can do that with flint and steel. higher nether brick walls would look ugly

some updates have been done, 2 new waygates have been built and im expanding the ways to new areane city.

areane city lies 2200 block away from the kingdom of the forest elves

(new areane city will be waygate 10) the bold numbers are finished waygates.

!!! IMPORTANT MESSAGE !!!

there is a glitch with the portals that causes the portals to kill you or teleport you to a different place

do NOT use any waygate under any circumstance, or youll die or get lost.

also: all end stone in the ways will be replaced with nether quartz

Believe it or not, The Ways was how Notch came up with the entire idea of the Nether. (Read it on the wiki a while ago)
