New! | MEGA-PROJECT | 500x500 MinePlot
« on: March 03, 2012, 07:00:34 pm »
A few of us OptiCraft players have begun the excavation of a Very Large 500x500 Mine.  When we are finished, we will begin to sell plots of it or even the whole thing to players for their own use!

We may be accepting people to come help us in the future!

You can view our current progress by going to this link (this is on the live map): http://smp.opticraft.net/map/#/-1541/64/1776/-3/0/0

Players currently playing part in project:

*UPDATE* We have added a 3-5 block wall around the outsides of the area!

*UPDATE 4/13/12* Currently project is on hold; It seems some players decided to destroy parts of the project's wall to make their homes inside the marked area, and contact with these players has been difficult if not impossible to say the least.

It seems everytime I do something ridiculously huge in minecraft (namely classic) I always end up overlapping someone else's work by accident or someone builds in my workspace by mistake and builds so much I have to move somewhere else.  If I were you, I'd keep an eye on this to make sure noone else begans to develop there.  Otherwise I commend you for the scale of this, good luck!

You have chosen a place with a bit of water, have fun with that :)
(it can be rather annoying to get rid of)

Anyway i would love to see this finished, and maybe a count of how many blocks of each material you mine.

Don't Worry, We are working on getting a 5 block high wall around the whole thing so players wont be tempted to build here. We also mapped it out so nobody's home would be damaged in the process of this mine, and we had 5 blocks to spare from the only extremely close home.

At the end, with the new height, I would love a diving board to go from to of the map --> bedrock. This mine could be epic for that :D

That's 1/36 TBH you forgot to square it all :P

(3000*3000)/(500*500)= 36
9000000 / 250000 = 36
