there is a hidden passage way somewhere,
try to find that,
Hint it's inside spawn(the house)
Ok ill have to look for that too, although after searching for the cake I thought I had exhausted the place.

Well I found more, however to get to it I had to use a glitch. Basically I spammed enderpearls so I could go through walls. I saw it while trying to look around the market. Like the portal reference! I wasn't invited to that tea party either. And I found a wolf on top of it. No sign of what is in the cake though, I couldn't get in.

well done,
That's one of the many Easter-eggs hidden around spawn and the server. Try to find others and update this topic with them
There more?! Well I'll definately try

Hey so I was bored and using enderpearls to check places out around spawn, such as the roof of the spawn building. Anyhow I teleported in behind the head of the statue and found a cake! Heres a screenshot.

Back when minecraft displayed the world seed I used the seed to find out which chunks spawned slimes. The chunks I am in and that bobbarkee is in once spawned slimes. Multiple of them very quickly and constantly spawning them. Now there is not a single slime despite expanding to two floors to increase spawning space.

You know what the most effective way of removing viruses from your computer is? System Restore.
If you've recently acquired some sort of malicious program and you know when it happened, you can do a System Restore and it'll remove that virus to the point before you even had visited the place where you had gone to acquire it.
Of course, System Restore restores your computer's memory to that point as well, so anything that you had prior to the current point to the restore point will be erased unless you back it up or if you reacquire it.
I would (and have) done a complete clean install just to be sure.

Currently the world generation does not take advantage of the full height that was added in 1.2. This means that to see a mountain as tall as the world height we must build it ourselves. Of course this is an almost impossible undertaking and will probably never see the light of day by anyone, it was a thought I had but after doing the math I realize it is impossible. The slope of mount everest, as explained and found in this mildly annoying video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECH7LQb75VU is found to be .76; a Tangent value of .76 translates to a degree slope of 37 (using the http://web2.0calc.com/) Please feel free to disect and fix my mistakes in math, it has been a while With 255 being the maximum altitude for block placement in minecraft, and 62 being the maximum height for sea level, (see http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Altitude) we know that we have a 193 block space to work with. The height of everest is 8840m and base camps on the tibet and nepal sides are around 3200m. This means we have 5620m from base camp to the summit of everest. This is the area I think we should try to mimic as it is the most well documented area. Anyways with a slope of 36 degrees, and a height of 5620 we can find the slope to be 9388m long and the base to be around 7458m. Taking this down to minecraft terms, by multiplying all values by around .035 we could bring it down to minecraft terms. The height become 196, the base becomes 261m which must be multiplied by 2 as i have done all calculations so far as a right triangle so it become 522m. This is a huge undertaking and it's late at night so I dont even want to begin trying to find the volume. Just doing this math I realize how silly this seems. I marked out 500m and let me tell you, it is a huge distance.

Hello! I thought it would be neat to have a collection of photos from users doing their favourite activity in opticraft. The idea is to post a picture of you doing whatever you spend the most time doing in opticraft, which for me is caving. So here is mine. Rules- Your photo should include evidence of it being opticraft (chatboxes, recognizable buildings if hud is off etc)
- You may edit the photos, however it should be small modifications such as filters.
- Obviously do not include photos that break the rules of the site, or show evidence of breaking the rules of the server
Enjoy! I can't wait to see some neat photos

Hey when 1.3 comes out I'm excited about trading with villagers, however that will not be easy on opticraft. villagers are hard to find, expensive to obtain, and just generally not accessible. So with the support from others who have villagers, I would like to develop some kind of system of keeping the villagers protected, but able to be traded with. I'm still not sure as to how to do this, however I still think we need some kind of public trading post. lll get on creative and test some designs in the meantime,
