Understatement of the century.
Recently had enough time to come back to Minecraft and was hit with a wave of nostalgia when I remembered all the times on Opticraft like 7+ years ago. I dunno if people even use this forum anymore, but thought I'd pop in and say hi.
I'm a Geologist, now; maybe ironic given all the time I used to spend on Minecraft. I just got back from a month-long trip doing field-work in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone (WY). Working on my Masters at a nice international school that's paying me to do research and TA, which is nice. Rocks are cool, and they're very easy-going.
Is the creative server even live anymore? Or is there anywhere else people hang out? It'd be cool to get back in touch after such a long time away.

Aukisgrove is live on PMC guys! I hate to self advertise but It'd be really helpful if you guys went and gave it a diamond. Positive feedback (and negative, as long as it's constructive!) is what really motivates me to work harder. I'm also hoping I can shed just a little more exposure to opti with this project. http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/aukisgrove-wip/I have some extremely high quality screenshots up there, so go take a look! Thanks guys

The mouse there (the black one) was a $10 dick smith mouse. Even came with battery's and has lasted 6 months without changing them. It dies all the time. I'll be building away, enjoying myself, when all of a sudden, I just stop. It runs out of battery faster than an iPhone. y'know what-- nvm

Personally, half of what you stated above was in a different language. I really don't understand much about computers besides how to right and left click. Anyways, my setup is basically: Computer Specs: Well, it's red and has a scorpion on it. It also says "AMD" on the front. I think my computer and your Samantha are twins. And there's this blue flashing light that gets really annoying when you're using it at night. I'd say it weighs about 9 pounds but I'm not really sure. Monitor Specs: There are probably like 15 wires going into it. Idk what they are, but they're working, I guess. It's mostly black with silver lining. Oh, and it has "DELL" on the front near the bottom. Mouse Specs: My mouses pisses me off a lot. It's wireless, for some reason I though it would be a good idea to get a wireless mouse. It dies all the time. I'll be building away, enjoying myself, when all of a sudden, I just stop. It runs out of battery faster than an iPhone. I go through $30 of batteries a week. Keyboard Specs: The keyboard is wireless, too. Somehow though, my keyboard was blessed by the battery gods because not once have I had to change the batteries on this thing in years.

Personally I was going to hold players responsible for checking up on their auctions which means no chat spam at all.
I guess, but especially during the last couple minutes of an auction, when there;s a lot of last-minute bidding this would be very problematic as players would have to type "/auction listmine" just to see if they've been outbid and then whatever command to actually make a bid. Personally, I have no preference with this, I just could see this becoming problematic in the future. I can already see players complaining about not winning the auction over having to type so much, even though like you said, they should be responsible for their own auction

Don't get me wrong, an auction system would be great. Maybe this has already been discussed, but the only problem I see is the amount of spam Auctions create in chat. Would this be on a separate chat channel, that players would be able to turn on/off? What I think might be a good idea would be an announcement for when a bid starts, something like "(player name) has started an auction for (block/amount) starting at (price)", as well as "(player name)'s auction is now over." This way, only players involved with the auction get the bulk of the messages, such as updates when another bid is made, etc., and would significantly decrease the amount of messages people get if they don't want to participate in the auction

I'm here addressing the creative live map http://creative.opticraft.net:8123/?worldname=Metropolis#. Both Doc and I agree that the Builder world should be added to this list. There are two reasons, one being that a lot of the servers best builds are located in this world, and it would be beneficial in showing new members what can be accomplished on this server without requiring them to join the world and fly around looking at builds. The other reason being that doc and I (Im sure some other builders would agree, but are currently not active) would like to be able to see our builds, as well as space to construct another build, as it is somewhat sparse.

Conversely, since //distr and /lb me are basically the same command, except //distr is more useful because it doesn't require UUI support, and can be set to a specific location instead of the entire world. So if there is no point in //distr why do all players have access to /lb me? Additionally, I don't see how either command could harm server performance. Even if there was a way to misuse the command, I'm asking for it to be a Builder+ privilege, so there wouldn't be anybody to misuse it, since there are only a few members of the rank, and they all can be trusted to use simple commands like these properly and not abusively. //distr would be useful because not only does it display the amount of blocks, but it also displays the percentages. This is extremely convenient in the sense that, for example: If I were to make a mountain, and wanted to variate lets say, some Polished and Regular Andesite, as well as some gravel, I wold be able to check the percentage breakdown of each block, and if there is too much of one block (in realistic and aesthetic terms), I would be able to recognize this. If you still disagree with the usefulness of //distr, I would be willing to compromise and just ask for //count, though I still believe that both of them would be very useful.
