I think if this were to be implemented it should go from the PLAYER OFFLINE time, not the placement of the stone, and should only deactivate PS fields after 2 MONTHS of inactivity.  That would filter out anyone who is taking a "break" from the game.

I disagree with the implementation of that suggestion.
I cant search each day when the protection will expire to replace it.
Neither, to find all my ps and to replace them and to have it as a priority every two months.
This is annoying and stupid.

What are you talking about BT5?  I suggested that if a player is OFFLINE for 2 months that their PS stones AUTOMATICALLY deactivate on their own.  You don't have to do anything to keep your PS working, besides hop on the game once every 2 months.  I'm pretty sure you're capable of that.

Alright. That's ok.
Probably, I didnt get the whole idea correctly. If it can be implemented and work just from your entrance to the game, then it is ok.

Great idea, but let's say ppl have huge builds and are offline for a very long time. For example, some guy has a melon farm next to my house, I checked who the owner is with /cinfo and then used /seen to see how long he was offline. it turned out to be that he was offline for 3+ months. If this feature will be implemented, I suggest only putting on coal ore protections.

Viper BT5 is spamarian. Did you notice that? XD

Fadmad:  Yea, I did notice, but if I replied "Spamarian" it would look weird to people who don't know.  *LOL*

I'd say that if a player had a massive structure and was offline for over 2 months, he no longer has ownership of that structure.  Why should things be preserved forever if the player doesn't care to return?  When would it be safe to say, "Clear the land for an active player"?  I think 2 months is more than enough time for someone to simply log in.

Good reply, but I still believe that this should only be implemented on coal ore not lapis or diamond.

Maybe so, but just because you place a lapis or diamond block don't think a mod won't remove it if you aren't online for 2+ months and a player goes "Can I build here?"...  That much inactivity tells us there is probably a 95% chance you won't be coming back, and you're structures are just taking up space.

Especially with the "farm" example.  People might treasure their melon/pumpkin farms and think just because they're massive that they're something special.  Personally I think they're more of an eyesore than anything else.  Everyone has one, because that's the best way to make money, so there isn't really anything special about them.  I have yet to see a melon farm that's impressed me.  It's just a big block and the inside is a very small redstone component that's been replicated about a billion times.  No real talent required, no imagination, it's just a farm.   I say if you're offline for 2 months and someone wants to rip it down to build something unique and creative (even if the farm is huge) my vote is for ripping it down.
