Include warps to cities who have been accepted
« on: May 26, 2012, 10:41:00 am »
The title says it all, eg when u walk to northtown, it says welcome to northtown, ACCEPTED cities says the same thing, and that there are few accepted cities...
So is it possible to include a "free" /warp <accepted> city for accepted city, and add them to the warp station, to make them official?
This is as there are many cities now, and it is important to distinguish official cities with protection, from unofficial cities which may not have protection.
By the way I removed my post, your post made mine look stupid haha.

I disagree.
The change to get a protection zone in your town, I believe is too much.
Others deal with griefers daily. The towns that get rejected, will face the economic and grief challenge since the protections are expensive when someone builds a town to get accepted.

By giving /warp stations to these towns, the survival element dissapears, too. THis happens because if someone starts from spawn and then spends all his/her game time in a safe city with a sethome(bought for some $) then, the only challenge he/she has is the caves.

Have you forgotten that when you started, walked "miles" for getting to a point? Why others to avoid that?

So the warps of"protected towns" of northtown, south town, east town, west town should be removed too?

IMO if cities can't have a warp, then maybe adding a sign in the warp station, telling ppl to use who's /home to get to the city can be implemented.

At this point, the only warps that we need are those to the warp towns themselves. Anything else beyond that is excessive and unnecessary.

I do believe I touched base on this in another topic not too long ago.

Using someone's /home is the only alternative that we can provide at this moment. It would not make sense to have a /warp in the same place as someone's /home-- especially when we put up multiple sethomes as a donation reward in the near future.

I would agree to that, multiple homes should solve the problem.

why multiple homes should solve this problem?
my home or my homes are MINE, not the others, so why should i use one for the city spawn?
i have my home especially for me not for another thing, so i can use it.
if my home is for city spawn, i cant use it anymore.
if i have one more home to set, why should i put one of them for city spawn, and dont use them both for my purposes?
i said that in another topic too, so we dont need to open so many topics with the same problem.
let it be like it is and we ll see later.

You can use it for yourself and the others that you allow.
Make each home safe and able to use it, only players you want.

Multiple homes is a donation reward, and since most people haven't donated, it solves nothing for them.

I believe that accepted cities should have /warps set to them. Also I believe that this should conversely raise the bar on what constitutes a city. Running around to get from one place to another is not survival, it's boring. Anybody can run across the map, I've done it myself, it's not hard, but it is boring. Warps to towns help make the map more accessible and make exploration more rewarding as you can visit more and see what people have built more.

Its not yet a donation reward even if the plugin is ready.
WHen u try to set a second home it says to you, to donate.

Anyway, I am dying for it, and I hope next weekend I will enter the game, to be installed..

All well and good, but peoples /homes move around quite a bit, at least mine does.

Well it will be a donation reward so it's optional. If this comes out you either will or won't donate for it. I'm assuming some players that do have accepted city applications like D00MKNlGHT will be getting it. In your case /home is a personal thing for you, but for others they will use it for citizens to transport to their city.
