Few pointers guys.

1. The text should always be in the foreground. Nothing should cross any part of the text and distract the viewer.
2. More complex doesn't mean better.
3. I know it is fun to mess around with different fonts but we are looking for a nice, clean, professional looking font.

The blood brush doesnt fit well with a minecraft server. Not to mention that outerglow makes it look to unprofessional.

It's not a brush, but I understand.

Can you show me an example of what exactly you're looking for?

If we had and example of exactly what we were looking for, we wouldn't be having this competition would we?

Maybe you'd have an example that's not an Opticraft banner, but shows what you want.
But, ok.

I'll keep trying, I guess..

Hidden due to an irreversible and unnoticed typo. One of my personal favourites too. ): I could probably remake it if it has any chance of winning.

Bloody double fail fixed. Both evank and the site he uploaded the banner to failed. I had to use hax to get the .swf up.

OPTICRAFTS NEW BANNER(marquee removed /facepalm)

Erm...

  • Although scalable, vote pages doesn't allow Flash banners. Even if they do, Flash banners in such places look bad, unprofessional and utterly weird.
  • Effects feel too flashy for a survival server. It could be alright for a MMORPG or something.
  • GIF/APNG could work better instead, unless you plan on showing live stats in the banner. But showing live stats can be done better by using PHP + ImageMagick/GD if vote page allows direct linking.
  • Also the server IP is smp.opticraft.net, not www.opticraft.net.

Now before my precious post gets nuked, I post another banner here:

Another with liesserver features under the server IP:

Same as the 2nd version, but with weight difference in case some idiots can't realize which string is the IPfor sake of professionality.

Then here's more of them:

Only a new orange color theme to match forum:

A fresher, more playful look with Museo 700 and Calluna Sans Regular:

Now with Museo 500 to make it look more like the original:

Mono, the banners have to be 468 x 60.
Yours are a bit too big.

Everyone else was trying the orange, so I gave it a shot. :P

And if bending the Opticraft was too unprofessional, here it is normal:

Stupid numpad took 60 as 80.

I have to make them all over again.

Or not. I like this one.
