I disagree, emeralds are intended on being rare adding them to the market would ruin them for not only me but I'm sure others as well. I would put these things up there with Sticky Pistons, nice hut not a necessity.

Well you can trade them with villagers but they can also be crafted into very nice emerald blocks wlmuch like Gold or Iron but with a unique texture.

Also, it is noted that Emerald is 25 times more rare than Diamond, and only available on Extreme Hills.

Not a good idea, emeralds are too rare.  If they were sold at the market, that ruin things and make it too easy to obtain.
