1.4 - Safe to update

UPDATE: It is now safe to upgrade to 1.4

Hi guys,

As usual with most minecraft updates, there will be a delay between the client being updated and the server.
Until we say it is safe to update, please remain on 1.3.X. I will work as quickly as I can to get the server back online with 1.4 once there are bukkit builds available.

It's unclear what will happen once the update commences. There may be moments of lag, but genuinely if anything does happen like last time, it probably won't be any worse.

Again, it's hard to tell what will happen despite there being more features added and modified to the game.

How he is he suposse to predict the future Chipaton? Lol, the lag was bukkit's fault for bad coding glitches (for lack of a better explaination). It was Bukkit and mojangs first time working side by side WITH each other. There were bugs to work out like with every patch but maybe that one had a few more kinks then usual.

With that said, 1.4 is a fairly large update, will there be bugs? Probably. Will those bugs cause lag? Unknown as of right now, because know one would no until a stress test.

As others have said, this wasn't expected last patch, it was a minecraft + bukkit bug. There could be other bugs when we update - I cannot predict what will happen. It is likely that there will be a slew of new bugs when we update though.

I don't know if there are new blocks in 1.4, but if there are, will they not show up in the live map like the new stairs from 1.3? I don't know who developed the live map, but it should be updated with the new blocks soon.
