Do not update to 1.4.6 - Now safe to update

Hey everyone! I did this and I immediately found a solution. Quite easy actually;

1*. download http://assets.minecraft.net/1_4_5/minecraft.jar this jar file
2. type %appdata% in your search area
3. open up .minecraft
4. open up the bin folder
5. now replace the .jar file for 1.4.5 that you just downloaded with the minecraft file already in it
6. delete the file called version that should be below the minecraft file
7. enjoy!

Some files you get from YouTube are in no way safe (not saying all are unsafe), so a trusted source like Mojang is a lot better and more advisable.

we've already told you, read the thread properly!
we have no eta on the server update release, as of now, we are waiting for a stable build of 1.4.6 to be released.

do note, we are not developing these bukkit builds mate, so we can't control the release of it.

don't worry about that, that usually happens to me right after i download it. just continue on with the steps that are provided in the previous posts or the video link above.

Benjaminc, same thing for me. I did the whole thing and when it asked me if I wanted to update when I logged in i said not now and then it continued to say "Updating Minecraft" then goes to a black screen.
