You may be talking about vegans. Vegetarians don't eat animal meat, but vegans don't eat or use anything produced by an animal, like milk. However, I think both would be fine with eating meat in Minecraft, since they are not real animals.

I only eat melons on opti but that's because I bought 2 double chests of melon blocks on July 3rd, and I planned to sell them all the next day
