What? silk touch is used for infinite glass collection on shears or (finite) cob web gathering for builds/redstone timers.

Using the shears on blocks does not use durability , Only grass/vines/flowers/cobwebs do that
The silk touch will also be able to cut cobwebs and even obtain them.

I tested and googled this to be sure, shears can infinitely collect glass. They never break or gain durability when getting glass. They are the onlytool that can get cobwebs but they do eventually break from gettinb cobwebs. Thus, they are extremely useful and also rare.
