A quick question on optifine and mods-
« on: June 23, 2013, 08:02:18 pm »
Hi. So, most of us know that Optifine comes with the Connected Textures mod installed in it. Considering optifine likes to freeze and crash my game, I am asking that if it would be okay if I install the connected textures mod without optifine?
Thanks in advance

Well, Rule #2 in the link below says: 2.   No mods or hacks at all, Optifine is ok.

I don't think you understand what he's saying:

He's saying that, since Optifine relies on another mod to run and Optifine is OK, does that mean the mod it relies on is OK by itself?

Personally, I'd have thought yes, but I'm not exactly in a position for that to be a reliable answer.

I get what he means, but since I'm not a staff member I can't give him the answer, I just thought that that might be helpful.

Officially it is not allowed. Unofficially we won't punish it, assuming it is in fact a dependency of optifine.
