I think we could remain a community server even if the server population doubled.

Anyways, being as the problem with "improvements" is lack of devs, why not make developer applications? See who makes an app, and see who of those people would have potential to be a developer here.

Yes and, Since Opticraft has unique code, it could be stolen and claimed as someone's elses.

That is why there's apps. The apps would prove who can code and who can't, and staff could try to determine someone who could be trusted with the plugin code.

But yeah, developer with bad intentions = bad.

Only 2 people are trusted with the code. If they were to be trusted that much, they would be either a person who's been on the server extremely long, or Admin.(Plus they need to code somewhat well.)

Apps are bad because what you say over the internet could be completely different from what they think.
Developer with bad intentions = Bad.

I don't think that's the point. If it was up to me, I would personally want a developer that I know and trust. I'm not just going to hire someone and risk many things over a developer. As nice as it would be to have one, we're not desperate for one.

Edit: I should clarify I meant to say an active dev.

The only people trusted to code would be the admins, none of which can code (as far as i know)
