Am I the only one who thinks the guy shut it down because Nintendo was threatening to sue?
Bird is original but bears extreme similarity to cheep cheeps from Mario.

The developer confirmed there was no threat of a lawsuit.
The guy pulled it because he didn't feel like it was representative of the quality he could deliver, and it was addictive.
All these theories and hoaxes could be solved with a simple bit of googling guys...
