Do NOT download anything labeled "WoM Game Client" from ANY website other than worldofminecraft.com . There are other clients pretending to be hack clients that give you hacks BUT also release your username and password to the internet.

I thought that this was already known, or at least common sense among those who can realize that now a days people will make fake downloads for infection purposes

many people did not know this, this is not an infection, it releases your password to the internet.
