Xoiiku's links of mystery and awesomeness
« on: March 27, 2011, 06:56:11 pm »
I thought that subject line might be more interesting and extensible than, "check out this cool math program I found".

Anyways, I found this website http://www.khanacademy.org/ after watching the founders TED talk. So far, I've been doing practice exercises to help me get better at math. For a self directed learner like me this is a great resource. So, I thought maybe other people might find this useful as well.

I'm actually pretty good at math. I just hate the homework, that's why I get C's :/

I was curious if anyone has been, or is still, using Khan Academy to learn math or the other subjects that are covered there. I've been studying for my SAT and college placement tests and I keep thinking about how much better prepared I'd be if I'd known about it years ago. To that end I thought I'd re-post the link for anyone who missed it the first time, and might benefit from it.

Thanks for posting this Xoiiku. Although I already knew about Khan Academy, it's an amazing site and it deserves to be spread around and used more than it currently is.  It helped me a lot with a few different math classes already.  I just wish there were more videos on it (mainly on programming, as it's my favorite topic :P)
