I have a virus on my comp, so I cant get on mc... im gonna get a laptop soon though.

Yeah... No need to buy a new computer because of a virus. Send me the laptop/pc if you're going to do that ^_^

In some cases no, Maybe the virus already infected the hardware.

To my knowledge, a virus cannot infect the hardware?
As in 'infect' the hardware, do you mean that it disables some crucial device drivers?

I have a virus on my comp, so I cant get on mc... im gonna get a laptop soon though.

Try installing Malware Anti-bytes, or if you have the money Eset nod32.

From all of the distro's of linux, i recommend ubuntu as the best to use.
It's what I run my servers on, and has the most user friendly gui.

if you are in for gaming i advice linux-sorcerer
linux-ubuntu and linux-mint are mostly desktop OS so they can be used for prettymuch everything...
