Troll Minecraft Day?

Anyone know what's going on? A bunch of people trolling? A glitch?

If you check out the minecraft classic server list it's flooded with "Minecraft Server" servers:

Opticraft got pushed down pretty far :\ only like 30 some people on ;(

It lists by the server uptime I think. But those are most certainly old servers

Hey,

I'm actually quite interested in how the list works.
And yes i think somebody is messing with the server list.

But back to the list.

It doesnt list on uptime i have been up for like 2 weeks without any downtime.
And i was still down at the bottom.
It doensn't list by name..

And also doen't seem to list by users online.


Is it just random ?

Btw anybody know any code optimizions for the classic client ?
Using WoM client doesnt really do anything beside "hack"

Have searched but all are just basic stuff no real code replacement optimize.
I know its obfusecated but still they did it for the beta client so there should be some for classic right ?

I guess you mean unix timestamp.

But that should mean the longer your uptime is compared to the others the higher you get.
I doubt all those Minecraft server 0/16 servers have a update higher then a week to stay above most servers.

I'm thinking of making a site with the server list.
It will parse the serverlist of minecraft keep the list updated.
And using that list will keep give you the option to list by uptime or users or name etc.

Its not that hard so :p.
But will people be going to be using it ?

The problem lies with the problem to play it will ofcourse link to the minecraft.net/play.jsp?server=hashhere
They will need to login to minecraft after it if not logged in they will get the offline play game loaded.

But i guess that is up to them how to handle it.

it's also a possibility that notch made it random on purpose, to give small servers a chance?
