Sorry but the lag is just unbearable.
Almost every block i break returns and i get warped back to like where i was 10 seconds ago.

And now it seems the server is offline ?

I have not experienced any lag on this server so far but maybe they are having problems today.

Suggestion: Ranked worlds (like ranked maps on classic server)

Have a public map for Guest & Member, a Recruit+ world, and a Builder+ world.

Ranks dont carry over to beta. There is no recruit or builder rank. Since it is a survival server we only need 1 world.

By the way there is a suggestions board if you have more suggestions.

Check your fire wall. Im havent experienced any lag yet.

No firewall just router.
Port doesnt need to be forwarded as outward connections arent limited.

Also it isnt all the time just sometimes.
The lag just comes and go's and then everybody has it so its not me.
and with bad i really do mean bad.

Like i said i have not experienced and lag near that bad, i have had a block re appear on me once or twice but not often. So everyone doesn't have it.

Ah yes, This is because the host im running the beta server on is really cheap, they seem to experience periods of massive packet loss i noticed.

Haven't had it happen to me in awhile, but that is most likely what happened. Don't worry, this is not the permanent host for beta. Its just a temporary cheap one while we flesh out the servers concept/plugins and so forth. Don't feel its worth sinking $180USD~ into a dedicated server just yet. Will do it once were out of testing phase for sure.
I really dislike lag/downtime and so forth, so if it continues to be a real deal breaker on the test server, i will get the dedicated server sooner.
How often was this occuring earlier and for how long?

Let me know if it persists as well.

Probably also explain the sudden disconnects i sometimes get.
something with reading datastream failure.

Could also be a problem on the client though.

Yeah quite possibly.

The host im using atm is ridiculously priced.

4GB ram VPS + 4GB Burstable ram for $15 a month (Dual core cpu, 150gb hdd, 4TB BW)

So yeah, im not expecting the greatest performance from it. However if the packetloss gets worse i will move to a proper server.

Hm. I've only experienced an extreme lagg once, and everyone else experienced it too. Lagg lasted 20secs I think.
Other than tht th game is fun!

I experiance lag often. I have been disconnected 10 times +
And lost health from mined blocks appearing back after I have mined them, suffocating me.
Lastly, it makes it hard to chat, imagine being on a telephone where everything you say appears 10 seconds after, and everything you hear was said 10 seconds ago. Its not easy.
But thanks for the server Optical, I love it!

I have seen so many data stream d/ces on other beta servers aswell. Probably just the packet loss.
