make a backup of .minecraft before updating
It's funny I thought I had updated my beta to 1.8 on my desktop by mistake but I still have 1.7.3. I can try and post this "minecraft.jar" file for those who need it (unless its against the rules). I'll try to do it in 3hrs after I get out of my physics class. Can someone tell me what files exactly I need to post and where they're located?

Then go to .minecraftClick on the "bin" folder.Minecraft.jar is there.
But I thought it was ok to create "back-ups" of games and as long as you owned/bought that game it's ok to use the "back-up" of that game from someone else. Kinda like roms as long as you own the game, you can download its rom legally.
