Water Damage bug
« on: October 16, 2011, 06:10:38 am »
Well... When I'm bored, I jump into water at high places, sometimes not high. But some of the times I get fall damage when I hit the water, it's killed me a few times now, 2 on purpose, 2 not on purpose. I have yet to catch it on video because when I turn the camera on, it doesn't give me fall damage.

It depends on how deep the water is....

This has happened to me a few times whenever I try to do epic ninja stunts when mining in ravines(When falling I keep a bucket of water then right click to the ground to avoid fall dmg.)I believe whenever you are in a high place. You need deeper water.

But that's my opinion I guess :/

Edit:oops didn't read :/

Yes, depending on how high you jump from, you need a deeper amount of water to absorb the damage.

I belive at 16 or below blocks 1 is deep enough. Any more you need 2. Sometimes you may need 3, not sure.

That's stupid, if 1 block is 1 meter, and you can survive a 16 meter jump into only a meter-deep space of water? You'd have to be, like, god.

So thats stupid, but making armour out of DIAMONDS is not? You can just connect them up, when I don't even know how hot its melting point is. Oh, and then you can make picks and mine through meters of stone in seconds? And don't get me started on creepers...

Could be the whole world being made out of 1x1 meter squares? :P

And Mr, if this helps, you can get bucket, put water on side, then jump in waterfall, then click source block and you go down with the water.

minecraft doesnt make sense at all... from a certain distance of falling, IRL, hitting water would be like hitting concrete.
