Unable to login.
« on: January 09, 2012, 05:30:05 pm »
I am having this error pop up every time I try and log in:

I have deleted my minecraft.jar file and reinstalled it but I keep getting the same error.
Any suggestions as to how to sort this out?

If you have mods, try deleting them. If you don't have mods, I have no advice.

I have a vanilla minecraft.jar file. No mods, no texture packs.

Be sure you are typing it in correctly. Also, you might want to consider that your computer might just get mad or sick.

Try logging into the website, could be an account issue... otherwise back up your saves/jar (whatever) and delete/reinstall a new .minecraft folder. If not, try reinstalling Java, or run it as administrator... not sure.

Okay... I have tried everything I can think of.
And still the same error.
All this means is I won't be on the SMP at all. (Not a biggie. But, most annoying for me.)

Well that sure is a fancy looking error you have there  ???
I looked up this error and a few others were having the same problem, it looks like it's either your connectivity in your area, or just a huge mistake on Mojangs part. I would suggest backing up your saves and deleting your whole .minecraft folder a couple of times, reinstall your java a couple of times, restart your computer, and restart your router. If all this fails then you might have to contact Mojang. Also do some looking around on the internet to see if anyone has a solution. Good luck.

I have established what the problem is and it turns out that my Grans router has a safety feature that blocks 'unshure' websites and such.
It does not allow me to go to the minecraft.net web so I'm almost half certain it is the router.

If it is your router, then you need to contact your service provider and ask them how to change the settings. After you turn that safety off then you can be on SMP! If your service provider didn't install the router, then you're just gonna have to buy a new one.
