There is very little chance it will pass due to that fact that most corporations are against it. Now that the supreme court ruled corporations are people and can give unlimited money to campaigns, they are the ones pulling the strings.

Also, president obama will veto the bill, that means the senate would need a 67 yes votes to pass it.

Yeah I highly doubt it'll pass. However, that doesn't mean that they will give up. I think this is just round one. Next year they'll come back with it with more reasoning behind it and a better plan. We need to make sure that this shit is gone for good.

From what i read in the article that this "S.O.P.A" would shut down sites like youtube, facebook, google, wikipedia, or bing. Thats idiotic, the internet would be nothing without google or bing, what other search engine is there? Youtube, there is no other site that big for video hosting, it is know around the world, congress cant just shut this down, and about 99.9999% of youtube is not piracy, and S.O.P.A is agianst piracy,and also not much piracy is on facebook. Does that mean you have to shut it down? NO!

Lucho, dont take everything that article says as something that is going to happen, that article assumes a lot of things. We really don't know exactly what will happen if this bill passes, all we know is that it looks like a recipe for disaster.

As I've seen someone else state, we still need to be active against PIPA, which is still in play.  This is likely an example of a common technique to get it to pass.  SOPA was created to be ridiculous and hated, and now PIPA will look less ridiculous/more reasonable in comparison and more likely to pass.
