Yeah if it works on the iphone, it probibly works on the ipad

Alright! Lets build this ghfdgfh

An app combining all of these ideas would be very nice.  A navigable forum, server information, perpetually updating server info (players online, prices, etc.)  Perhaps even incorporate IRC or server chat into the app.
Make an app that is like the forums but easier to navigate on them. Like the facebook app for the iPod/iPhone/iPad.
that would be boss.

These^

Also, possibly have it for 69p and money goes to Optic? Or would that stop most people getting it?

What about a in-app donation?

In-app donations = brilliant.
I wouldn't make it a paid app, though, that would heavily discourage downloads.

Simple machines forums are very easy to navigate on mobile devices imo.

I agree, I do it all the time (right now, in fact). But there are other features we could put in the app that would make it very useful. Market prices, players online for each server, built-in IRC, just to name a few. If mods and ops could moderate server chat through the app, that would add a whole new level of usefulness, allowing staff to moderate on the go.

I disagree, it doesn't resise, or make the text bigger. In the end, it is a lot of scrolling and fiddly button pressing. (Then pressing back when you press the wrong thing) and this new "Vote for us!" annoying popup makes it worse.

It's not bad, but it could also be better.

Maybe you should vote then.

I believe that it pops up only when you are eligible to vote.  I once voted, and the popup disappeared.  The next day, however, it came back.

just a suggestion for how to make money from this:
how about you have advertisements in the app, and require a one time payment or donation to remove the ads?
that way if you dont get any money you can use the app, just with ads, and if you do get money you
can remove the ads by paying?
