Locking the /home command
« on: January 28, 2012, 02:53:29 am »
I am sick of people coming to my /home. So could there be a command that makes it so people can't use /home <yourname> to go to your /home? Some people have found out how to get out and one specific person griefed my farm, and I want to prevent this from happening.

How they get out is they do /home then /back then they end up outside of my house.

Make a jail with a protection stone.

Make a jail with a protection stone.
They can just do the same thing, they can do /home then /back and they will be on the surface.

its impossible to get out because i remember you forgetting one window without regular glass and thats how i got out, maybe him too. but just make the jail underground with no windows and a protection stone with a steel door.

You can make the /home spawn point out of your house, or in a place that it is closed and then you open it to leave and go to your home.

I do want this, but only if you can give certain people permissions to go to /homes.

I do not believe this is possible with essentials. Maybe some other plugin though.

I do want that as well. If optical has time, maybe he could make his own plugin?

I like the idea but I think the owner of the home must be online and accept the /home playername tp.

I think that maybe we could put up a restriction on the <player> part in the /home command. I've seen something similar like this on another server but it was for a different command.

For instance (in this other server), you could look up your own player info but you couldn't look up other player's information until you reached a certain rank.

I think that the <player> portion of the /home command could be set to Trusted players and above, if that is at all possible.

I would hope not, because then people like me who go's to friends houses need this to make it easier.

We've been having plenty of issues with guests and members that we can't trust them enough to use the /home <player> feature. Sorry soul, but we need to make sure that the commands that we are providing fall to the right players.

Yes, indeed.
I would like that restriction, even if my home spawn place is out of my house.
But, some trusted players today faced griefing problems from that.
