you should make it so you can sell diamonds. it sucks if you have a bunch and no way to turn them into revenue. i really think that would make a lot of potential members happy. hint hint.

You get diamonds for free by voting. That'd defeat the purpose of getting diamonds and make every player on the server rich.

It's either we keep it the way it is or we nerf the price of selling diamonds or diamond blocks, and we aren't willing to do that.

As an alternative, you can sell diamonds in-person.

Yes selling diamonds can only be done player to player (currently)
When the server was first launched for 1.0 you could sell them, that ended shortly!
If they were to be sold to the market again the would be extremely low in value, possibly lower than iron ingots
because they are extremely renewable.
say there are 100+ voters a day thats 400+ diamonds that are put into the game effortlessly, which is highly unlikely to be achieved daily without voting.

So for now sell to other players, ask around for prices, hold an auction.

Yeah, The best way to use diamonds is to make tools for enchants anf for mining. and use the mining revenue to make money. example: Iron, Gold, Redstone, Lapis.
