Like/Thumbsup
« on: March 01, 2012, 03:19:17 am »
I'm sure this has been suggested before but if there is a way to implement a Like button (or similar concept) then a lot of people would be happy.

I know a lot of sites use this but its just a fun feature to show when you agree or get a good laugh, or were thinking the same thing.

I also don't know how the site works and if its even possible to add features like this but its a suggestion.

ex. of use (FAKE)

"Optical: We just upgraded the server guys, have fun!!"
like!

if you added a like button your probably thinking "We would need a dislike button." but i think a dislike button could start some tensions as it could be used negatively. Were as a like button could mostly be a positive thing, unless on a hate comment.

Anyways tell me what you guys think!

Too late... T9K has already done this, so ours would look like cheap copies :/

It's not like they came up with the like/dislike idea in the first place.

even minecraftforum.net has 'like' buttons. It's honestly not "copying", its a widely used feature in many social areas (forums, social networks, photo sites, news sites, etc).

But Team9000 is our main competitor in this game. We both have classic servers of comparable size, with a similar ranking system, a similar smp server. We just can't compete with totally 1 or the other servers, such as WoM: Realms or LegendaryCraft (Or any other of the big smp servers). T9k and Opticraft are the 2 biggest middle servers, catering for both sides (Classic and SMP). My problem is that if we slowly become the same server with a different name, where does that leave us (or them?)...

*facepalm* We aren't going to be the same by adding a like/dislike button.

I'm not sure why it is widely used, it is a pretty dumb feature imo.

No, Team 9000's SMP server is NOT the same as our SMP server. The owner of Team 9000 wrote his own plugins, since he
