Inactive Players and their Creations
« on: March 22, 2012, 09:04:46 pm »
Every time a player is banned their creations should be deleted if possible. I also think That when a player is inactive on the server for an extended period of time a moderator should be allowed to delete their locked things as well as their creations.

The reason for this post is above and I have come to this conclusion after realizing there is an extremely HIGH number of large structures all over the map that are greifed (Of Coarse) and after using the /seen and the /cinfo commands I have noticed their creators have not even been logged in for 12+ days. Basically I think that after 7 days of un-notified leave from the server, mods should be able to delete things someone had placed.

I'm not trying to be offensive but this is a stupid idea what where to happen if someone got grounded or went on holidays and when they came back there stuff was gone I'd tell you what I would do
I would ragequit so I'm not supporting this idea

Yes I agree I came up online today and my (ruined) house was gone.
I was doing personal stuff in (real) life and I also had school stuff and family stuff to do.

This idea has its pros and cons here is the list:

Pros:
More area for guests to build
 Less packed in server
More space to go out and explore without unused homes in the way
Cons:
Someone off of minecraft for vacation or something could lose homes and equipment
Cause less players to play cause many arent always active as others here some get on once a week

Idea: We can make the amount of time longer like 3-4 months also we could send them an email saying their home and stuff will be deleted in 32 hours due to being inactive for 2 months

Ya i too do not agree, alot of people out there either have things to do, vacation, holidays, jobs, or school, or their parents are quick to punish (like mine) and ground their kids for extensive times for no reason or just because of grades. and then there are people who get banned for doing stupid stuff but intend on returning to the server, changed, or have learned their lesson. i do see your point on those who have abandoned the server but their creations should remain because there is no true way to tell if someone has either left the server or is just busy.

Exactly. Also pegausus there s plenty of room or guests to build. The s loads of free space where Ilive and people came to my /home and started building around my house with permission...

So your saying you think that if a player is banned then their build gets destroyed. That is a very bad idea if  you think about it. Say a player was banner for using a Mod, they haven't griefed so they will come back once the ban is over. By destroying their build it just encourages them to leave the server.

Also some players go away for weeks either for work/school or even holiday, and if I was to come back after a break to find everything that I worked on destroyed I would be extremely pissed of and then leave the server for good.

For these reasons I think that your idea wont work and isn't thought out properly. I also feel that the way the staff work wont change either. If you don't like the fact your house is surrounded my half griefed houses, move. Move far away from everyone. Then use the /spawn and /warp market to get what you need, if need be.

Like everyone else has said, this would create more problems then it would fix.
