SpoutCraft.exe and Spout.jar?
« on: March 27, 2012, 11:33:03 am »
SpoutCraft is a minecraft client that provides more options for players and server owners
Like new menu, server list, and capes!
It will also make the server popular since opti can add his server to the list!
It is like wom(But no fly modes and such things)
It is 100% safe and adds cool features to the server!
Like you can change your skin ingame!
You can also use capes! and also change them ingame!
Full text editing feature!
And a server can have it's own texture packs and you can use them directly once you enter the server you can also hae multiple server texture packs so players can click a button and choose their favorite texture pack.

I believe this is a great plugin and has an awesome client!
I hope opti adds it.

You can change texture packs with Optifine. You don't need to change skins ingame, and capes are just haxxy.

Also, do you need to have this to play?

You can use both but requires spoutcraft to use spout's features

spoutcraft is a special GUI mod which can allow certain things:
People can have the exact same texturepack - see the game in a different way
People can trade items with each other easily
Chests can be 'password' locked by typing in a password into a GUI (no need for /cunlock <password>)
Guns (for example) could be added as well as new items

The only downside that I'd say is that it takes time to load up and EVERYBODY would need the client to be able to use these features - there are LOADS of Opticraft players out there - hardly any of them know about bukkit yet alone spoutcraft...........And I'm not sure about all of these new minecraft updates. Spoutcraft is quite hard to use if you have first used it - there is a new menu, addons etc.

Overall, its a kewl idea but lots of people would need to get the client

This server needs to stay vanilla, adding clients like that is a terrible idea.

It's not a bad suggestion, it is just route we want to take.

Also agreed - this would be an epic thing if this server had Spout implemented :D

I think SpoutTrade is a great idea in the principle that a lot of people tend to trade items rather than money, and that SpoutTrade does not require any special clients etc
