Adventure! World Border

I'll be going on an journey, cross the lands, to the World border! All four points to be exact. Only think ill bring are my trusty Chain mail pants, my gold helmet, a bow with some arrows, and- food. Wish me luck!
(And i'll put a 'Flag' down to show i've been there. Made out of Black wool!)

Also, if you pass by my house, I might have a chest on a fence post with food in it that you can eat

The world border is 3,000 blocks from the spawn in all directions, so essentially the map size is approximately 6,000 x 6,000 x 256.

Well, I recommend you bring a few boats.  The northernmost border is mostly on open sea, and if you hit it with a boat, the boat will coast on while you stay behind.  And since it'll be beyond the border, you won't be able to get it.

Good luck on the journey! I've been to the four corners before..... I think one day I might create some train system so everyone can travel all across Opticraft, but I may or may not do that. Of course, Tobs already has a pretty cool one going

I see there are some areas on the Live map that have been explored, which lie past that boundary. How did that happen?

One reason is because admins have been working on some things across the world border (things yet to be released).

Another reason is because sometimes, certain nether portals show up across the border, when someone makes a portal in a certain set of coordinates in the nether. Of course when they step through the portal, they can't really explore the place because it will set them back within the border boundaries.

i also put in the chest a replacement gold helmet
