i just started today and i got banned for something called greifing

if someone could explain what griefing is that would be great because i saw an unfinished abandoned house and i saw some brewing stands. i thought i could just take one but it just reapeared there so i tried like 4 more times then i got banned for whatever griefing is. i just started today so idk what the heck greifing is. my username is collieman123 if u could unban me.

Collieman, griefing is when you take other people's items.
You must've fallen into one of Opticalza's grief traps, where he leaves some items out in the open to lure griefers.
