I need a Zombie spawner

How do I go about getting a zombie spawner placed? I have a spot in my basement I'd like to put a couple for my own XP Farm

The spawners in general can be found underground in the world.
In Nether they are probably under-surface.
In order to find one, you have to search a lot. You cannot take 1,2,3,4 or 5 spawners in a place just like that.
You have to find them, and are not like blocks that you can place them everywhere. It is not like creative.

1. In the nether there are (Surprisingly enough) no zombie spawners, and the only spawners there are ABOVE the suface, in Nether Fortresses.

2. In creative mode, you still can't place spawners. You can only get them with inventory hackers.


Oh, and is this for smp? (There are no spawners in classic), as it is in the wrong section.

Just explore underground, and make a grinder/Xp farm from the ones you find.

In short, spawners can not be placed where you want. You need to find them and build around it. That's part of the fun.

Also we should also say that spawners can not be taken with a silk touch pick. Most people believe that they can take the spawner with a silk touch and they waste their spawner.

They can be placed in the creative mod as you can use the "pick" button(which is middle mouse wheel at default) on the spawner to get it. BUT, remember that every spawner you place will be PIG spawners and they are not allowed on this server.

Possibly on single player, but I have tried MANY times on multi, and never works.

You can't place a spawner. Noone can. Even if someone does, it will be a pig spawner because all the spawners have a tile data for which mob it will spawn and they will lose their data when picked up. There is noway to place a mob spawner other then pig spawners on minecraft.

Let's add something so noone will be confused: The players who sell spawners will sell the location of their spawners(dungeons/mineshafts)

I sell a cave spider.
Btw, when I tried to check a silk touch on a spawner, we got a moss stone.
So, you cant place a spawner, and dont destroy them.
