Nether wart is easy. Slimes are broken currently. There are many threads concerning the spawn rate. I can sell some slimes, but they would come at a steep premium.

That's because you have a nether wart farm, something really no one else has on the server.

I don't have a nether farm, actually. I just shop a lot. I check every shop I find, sometimes you'd be surprised the deals you can get. Finding diamonds for $40 a pop is my best so far. I found Nether Wart for somewhere around 60 a stack, if I recall correctly. Many of the kids have no idea of an item's worth.

yeah what about selling slimes in the market? I really want them for auto farming.... I wanna build the largest auto farm with the highest production rates. Using redstone, BUDs, etc. you can get epic rates. But not without cheapish slime.

whaaaaaat!? Why don't they sell it in the market? It's so hard to make really nice autofarms without slimes.... weak sauce how much you guys charging for netherwart?

It is very easy to make an auto farm without sticky pistons

The largest auto farm that leads from bedrock to sky limit uses a lot of redstone and pistons, which when turned on lag the server to hell, so a bigger one will probably crash the whole thing.

to slove the slime problem is really easy, get everyone on the server go to ur afk slime farm spot, since every one is in ur chunk, all the server monsters will spawn there INCLUDING SLIMES, so slimes will start spawning, and u get slime balls.

And how will you collect that many people there? Also, I think that the slimes won't spawn even if you collect that many people as the spawn rates won't change depending on the number of people in the chunk. To have activity on a chunk, the chunk needs to be loaded(someone needs to see the chunk) and the activity won't change when more people are in there. I think ,maybe, while installing a plugin, optical made a mistake or the plugin itself had a file which stops slimes spawn by colliding with the slime spawning code. If we had a completely vanilla server(I don't want a vanilla server don't misunderstand) these problems wouldnt be existed. I think the problem can be solved by uninstalling the last plugin installed. That is just my opinion. (did these problems start after the addition of channels?)
Slimes are spawning, sphere and I met one. :/
By the way I removed my post, your post made mine look stupid haha.

Doom, what you met was a residue.

There are spawns left in areas that were accessed before the plugin was installed (saved by the system to still be there), but there are no new spawns anywhere on the server. Go to a piece of unexplored land, there will be no spawns.

I've been caving for the last week and haven't seen a thing in any one of the usually spawn laden caverns.

Anyway, even if it causes a chaos, i think this should be solved immediately as it goes worst evey second. Maybe a sytem restore can solve this?

Check it out! ;)

yes and no.... a one button or BUD system that will flush all the drops to a single location is hard to do w/o stickies. Also, wheat, nether, pumpkins, melons, etc no longer drop when the ground below them is shifted horizontally. You need to move a block into them, or in some cases you can shift a non-farmland, soul sand, etc. block underneath them

For pumpkins and melons, the melon/pumpkin block will only appear on a dirt/grass block, so there is no way to harvest them with pistons from below unless they're sticky. You have to harvest them from the side or above with normal pistons which makes flushing them with a current hard/impossible to do without destroying the stems (and redstone) although I may have found a decidedly inelegant solution to this.

I want to work on my projects and have resources just come to me, or press a button and have them come to me. I don't wanna run around constantly harvest or picking stuff up if I can avoid it. It would be great to grind XP and farm resources simultaneously.

If you have any thoughts/tutorials/youtube videos on ways to do this without stickies I'd love to hear them.

Also, I don't want to make a HUUUUGE farm, just one that will maximize rates in a compact space, without lagging. La hurts everybody and hurts growth rates, and spawn rates. My goal is to gather a diverse set of resources in the most efficient manner possible.

Again I am open to ideas and suggestions anyone may have.

Just to make sure you are not doing something wrong:
Slimes spawn only below layer 40, and only in certain chunks that are determined pseudo-randomly by the seed of the world. Roughly 10% of chunks will be able to spawn slimes. Like any hostile mob, slimes will not spawn within 24 meters (spherical) of any player. Similarly, slimes will despawn after some time if no player is within 32 meters, and despawn instantly if no player is within 128 meters.
Just in case...

I don't have a nether farm, actually. I just shop a lot. I check every shop I find, sometimes you'd be surprised the deals you can get. Finding diamonds for $40 a pop is my best so far. I found Nether Wart for somewhere around 60 a stack, if I recall correctly.

I totally agree. Yesterday i bought 6 slimeballs for $250 e/ and 6 sticky pistons for $400 e/

That's because you have a nether wart farm, something really no one else has on the server.

Wrong wrong WRONG!!! Did you even got to the nether? I even got one

P.S. I found a slime a week ago..

So I just made a slime spawn area and it is 4 block above bedrock. It has a area of around 70x 80x 4 should it have at least one spawn block in it. If not please tell me. Also netherwarts are really easy to come by. I can make you enough nether warts to make a large farm. TheFulcan and I share one and if we collected all of them at once it would be flowing over both of our inventories. Just buy one and soon it multiplys enough for a farm
