More Moderator Info
« on: May 19, 2012, 03:38:32 am »
I think that more info should be shown on the responsibilities that a moderator must fulfill. It would be great to be able to see some stuff about it so maybe don't know what expected and not expected before you become moderator see we don't have as many people that apply, but aren't willing the make the commitment. Just some small info like what you can and cant do with the powers provided. I've looked on the forums, and I haven't found anything that describes that duties in a little more detail than that you'll be dealing with grief and offensive players. I don't think this truly shows the commitment it takes(I'm not a mod, so don't be mad if I'm incorrect in some manners), to be a mod. I would hope this would be implemented in some way before Mod Apps open again(Which shouldn't be for a while). Thanks for taking the time to read my suggestion. ~Chipaton

As a moderator, your duties are to help the players with any problems you can. Moderating is first priority. You can build when no one has problems that you can help with. You need to keep the peace.

You can not use any of the abilities that the moderator position gives to you for personal gain. This means you can't use your flying ability to build. You also can't use your abilities to get free items or money.

You help with any type of grief or rude structures. This means fixing grief, destroying swastikas, human genitals, and other structures in the same category.

You help with water, fire, and lava.

You regulate the chat and make sure everything is peaceful. This includes spam and vulgar language.

You may try to settle player to player disputes. (this is not required) this would include disputes about land, disputes about transactions, and other disputes that cause unrest within the realm of Opticraft.

That's perfect, now only if it could be pinned or added to the Mod App template info.
