We're going to be organizing a the prom of the year 2012!

You are encouraged to bring a date! as it is a prom, and boys, what I thought would be cool is if you could bring red roses!
There will be cake and food.

We also have a photo booth to take a snapshot with you and your date (So be sure to visit that!)
You can meet up and have fun with the community and it will be really good :D

The prom is welcoming everyone *But* guests (For obvious reasons), The location will be held at TheWholeLoaf's home, So MANY thanks to you TheWholeLoaf for hosting this event!
Because of the venue, we have gone with the completely original theme of: WINTER WONDERLAND!

We will only be accepting smart skins, so tuxedo's and prom dresses (we won't be really strict, But try to be somewhat formal) So if you have a skin you always edit it and make it look Fab-u-lo0s!
The things we won't accept[/color] would be something completely out of theme, such as a cow, or a person a hoodie.

We'll be organizing a skin contest within the prom!
The Skin ranked 1st will receive a Diamond block!
The Skin ranked 2nd will receive a Gold block!
The Skin ranked 3rd Will recieve an Iron Block!

The competition will be judges by the top 3 ranking members (So if optical shows up; He, Nick & Relkab will judge it.)

The Prom king & Queen will be selected & crowned with a golden crown (Or a golden helmet, So you may want to find a texture pack for this, maybe?) and Titled Queen & King of the prom!

The judgement will also be up to the highest ranking members, since a vote would be too hard to keep track of.

If you want any info on how I did the floor of Club Dark (alternating redstone lights in a circle pattern) just let me know.  It's actually pretty simple.

Nope it's for member + (we won't be accepting guests) and the 2012 date is just the date of this year :P

People are welcome to join me on my island (/home viperzeroone) in the middle of an ocean if you want to contribute some fishing skillz to the party.  I'll leave an unlocked chest by my submarine for any fishy deposits.   :P

No need to cook them up people!  If you supply the time and effort I'll supply the coal and have the Club Dark Staff cook them up for the party.

(BTW, I will be checking for thieves, so deposits only please!)

Prom looks cool, I got my skin, (doubt it will win the competition, though) I figured out the time, (I'm British too, so I worked out the time that the prom was on (7:00 PM) in like 2 seconds) So many brackets xD. The one thing I have not got is the lovely lady  :-* so Ill have to get to know the mystery person by doing it the cool way... HOT TUB!

2 custom Tuxedos have been successfully tailored, I'm in the process of working on the 3rd one. If any of you want any more, please do PM me with the tuxedo that you would like (A real life picture) and a link to your current skin, and I'll try to mash them up together :)

I think he's probably referring to a tuxedo that still shares the "Assassin Creed" theme...  I could be wrong, but that's what I figure.

Erm...Have a look at some pictures of Ezio from AC. Try to make a white tux with his hood, and shoulder armour. And maybe a dagger on his sleeve.. And that nice red cloak...Bah, you figure out the details, just try to add something from Ezio.

Next time we do a big event like this we (the host and I) should get together and collaborate on a date and time.  I do in-game broadcasts on a legally registered internet radio station and would have been more than happy to act as DJ for the event.  

Unfortunately the stream is in use by another DJ for a weekly broadcast during the time set for the prom, so I'll be unable to provide the service this time.  Next time, however, if you want a real DJ taking in-game requests and playing real music that everyone can listen to at the same time let me know beforehand so we can work out a schedule for it to happen.

For donations i can and have made few cakes (30 something so far) to be placed somwhere in prom place (if posible nice lookin table like glass or something ) for tux i will work out something to get one.
Just is there any chest to deposit stuff or i can use Viper's fish chest,or to give Lark or someone else the cakes.And if u still need blue wool i got some lapis in blocks,sorry no wool for now unless i buy some.Date i will not have cos of my jelaous lady :-P (joke i actually dont have any lady to go with me  :-\ ) and i'm not really sure i will be able to come but will do my best.
If any other material is needed i got:cobby,stone bricks,netherack,pumkins,melons,glowstone lamps (30 or so ),redstone wire for mechs like lights (can work out some light show if needed)also i suggest for food to use not chests but dispencers so ppl dont take more then needed :-) and my pig farm can produce nice amount of porkchop if needed also.
So without any further delay if u need something from above pm in game and i'l come asap :-D     sorry for long txt  8)

Can I make a suggestion? Why don't you make use of the music channel on Mumble and play the music for the prom in there.
It would be a little better than the 8-bit music ;)

Ok first none of that really looks like a tuxedo  :P except maybe "old fihter" one but looks little like pimp suit....sorry
but i'm guessing u want somethin similiar to your skin (sorry dont know what u wear ) so i would strongly recomend if that is really only options to wear to go with "drumcorps prototype" or last choice "assasin alien" which btw looks like formal wear of  star trek crew...sort of  :-\ maybe because of that silver stripe thingy.i just picked up some dark grey tux and add same color head cover similiar to my normal wear so maybe i'm not good for judging  :)
More reviews would be good before u choose.

1. Find where you are on the map.
2. add or subtract the number from 19:00 (7:00PM)

EG. I live in the -7 Timezone. So the event will happen at 12:00 (12:00PM) Where I live.

Take in note that daylight savings effects your number so it might put you up an hour. If the numbers are effected, my number would be -6 instead of -7 and the event would occur at 13:00 (1:00PM) my time. I do not know if that is in effect.

While I clearly agree that this should be a yearly tradition, I think next time there should be 3 time slots so you can cover everyone.  I'm located in EST and wasn't able to attend, due to;

7:00AM EST - Sleeping
2:00PM EST - Working

If there was a third group in the afternoon/evening, say during the busy time around 8PM-10PM EST, I would have been able to attend the party.  Kinda upset that I missed out, since I love these kinds of server-wide events, but maybe next year.

Oh I totally agree. I think we need to pick out representatives out sooner than later for each event that is relative to their time-zones, so that people can book the date down and so more people can show up. I tihnk we should start organizing earlier this time so less stress is occured and it is all around more organized!

The Opticraft prom of 2012 Has finally come to an end.

It was an awesome event and we had a great time. Here I will post a story of how everything went.

First off I want to say when I was preparing before the prom everyone was getting excited in the chat.
When we went up to the doors of the venue, the local chat went completely insane! We could feel the energy!
Everything was going as planned except for a few minutes behind, and we finally went to open the doors. When we did, Everyone rushed in like a stampede of antelope running from a cheetah who hasn't eating in 48 hours! The first event on the schedule was Photos at the booth, with the opening madness, I have no idea it this even went on. Basically the party just started and we had our resident DJ Ramkitty putting on a live show in the mumble channel! Everyone that came was Dancing, eating, and or mingling within a short time. After about a half hour set of incredible music it was time to announce Best dressed and prom king and queen. The winner of the best dressed male was Tiny_Markey! and the winner for best dressed female was Nymphcraft!

Than came the most important awards of all, prom King and Queen!!! The prom king and queen who actually came as a couple were Bahraindude & Impishmonkey!

After these two categories were called, the winner had their photos taken while the hosts of the prom started their speeches. After the speeches were over everyone at the venue went to my home (Wratkie) for what must have been the most epic Minecraft party of all time! My home is set in the city of Invictus, in the middle of the lake on stilts with a dock leading to a massive deck with a hot tub built in. as for the house goes it was all hooked up with food dispensers, speakers a a DJ booth for a surprise guest. as everyone was waiting to get into the house, i ask everyone to get into the water so i could introduce this guest. once everyone was ready for him to come out i introduced him. The surprise DJ/Guest was Skrillex! He played any amazing set and finished the night off with a couple requested slow songs! Afterwords a few people hung around and had photos taken with Skrillex and friends. Overall i think this event went well and everyone who attended with a good output had a great time!

I have photos of the after party and I know some people have some pictures of the prom it self. If you could please post those pictures for everyone to see that would be awesome!

Yes I quite agree, if you wish, Lark and I could organize some type of committee, besides Prom, with Lark and I as heads (because we did such a good job on Prom  ;)), to book and oversee and plan events like maybe a Summer Beach party, Halloween type Scare-House and party, a Christmas Ball, New Years party (completely impossible to do a countdown because of the changing timezones), etc, etc. I would be more than honoured to do this sort of thing if it went through. Next time there's an event contact me, and I will dj. I can setup a audio stream to play music for everyone who is in the event. The audio stream would not require mumble, just a basic media player of some sort, and the stream would be 256 kbps so it's high quality. In other words next time there's an event, screw listening to music in the mumble music channel. I gotcha all covered :P

ATTENTION: There is now officially a crew called "The Partay Rockas". They will be in charge of organising events like Prom, but on different occasions and holidays. We will have a place where you can apply to get into this committee, but it will be MUCH harder to get in to then the Prom committee. The head of the committee is Myself and Larkosaurus. Some events we will put on will be posted one month before that event will take place. More info will be available on these created events. We would also like an op, mod, and hopefully admin representative from each of those ranks to join the committee, but anyone that is a member+ may apply. As some of you may have heard, Larkosaurus has left Opticraft for unknown reasons. As one of two head organizers of Prom committee and "Partay Rockas", a gap has been made. However, I am stepping up into this position with Radlam (Lema) taking my spot. Lark has pm'd me saying "It's all you now. I've left the server" that is why I feel I should take the spot. Anyone who is in the Prom committee or part of the "Partay Rockas" crew, we will be having a meeting to discuss events on July 21 2:00 pm (North American Central Standard Time) that is enough time to organize and plan for this meeting to be there, if you cannot make it, pm me.      Ok, I would really hate to just call it off for him... He has a nice home, but it's unfurnished. Also, only he can build in it sense it has project protection. Gavin has volunteeres to lend us some dragon eggs for decoration as long as they are returned (That's where project protection comes in handy to protect them). And other people have volunteered to donate some stuff too. One peron (will not name now) has volunteered to donate Fire res. potions for some "punch".

As I said on the 2013 Prom topic, it was wrong for you guys to keep it a secret. If you didn't want this all to happen, could have told us that it was actually being organized. If you guys had told us, we wouldnt have this big mess.

If you check what lord actually commented he never said it wasn't going to happen. And did hint that we were actually organizing it. But anyways I hope this feud can all blow over and we can make two great events

Trying to stay out of it but have to say I think you're being a little unfair trying to put a deadline on posting about something that has belonged to the prom committee for over a year.... People suggested I do it after the Valentines Dance in the Stars and I refused because I didn't want to step on anyone's toes. I think it was great of you to change the name of your event so that it could continue without taking over something that has belonged to other people for so long... However, putting a time limit on someone else's event posting isn't fair at all, and frankly really isn't up to you. I hope you can all just blow things over and let the prom committee keep what is rightfully theirs and you keep what is yours without conflict.

Well, I'm sorry, but I just don't have enough time in my schedule to fit in organizing a major event like this. Unfortunately, if you're going to do something, you'll have to do it mostly without me.
