Title: BanList idea
Post by: Chief149 on June 25, 2012, 08:59:01 pm
ok so HL2 Sourcemod has a thing called sourcebans.

http://sylesrp.com/sourcebans <-- that is the sourcebans website used by a friend of mine for his HL2 server

So if you look at that as the example, perhaps there could be something setup similar to sourcebans, but for minecraft?

Our developer, cschurz, is already doing something like this and will be implemented fairly soon (I think after the Member world is released)

At least you guys won't have to go in-game to find out about the bans now.

I have another suggestion as well.

Add in an appeal button. The ban appeals would go on a page like an inbox, only for all the admins and moderators to see. Such as with sourcebans, there is a ban request and ban appeals system built in.

http://www.sylesrp.com/sourcebans/index.php?p=protest <-- example page of sourcebans, and if you look around you could probably find a link to post a ban request, but that might actually be an admin-only thing on that sourcebans feature because I only see it when I log on to that sourcebans site with my admin account.

Also note the link above is NOT meant to be as an advertisement. The server using that page isn't even Minecraft lolz.

thought about it, but i'd like to keep ban appeals a community-driven process. Sometimes multiple people are involved in a ban appeal, and the forum makes it pretty easy to look over them anyways.

there will be a link from the page with ban information to this topic: http://www.opticraft.net/index.php/topic,5842.0.html

which has a link to create a thread in the ban appeals forum.

hopefully that is all that we need :)
