Title: Monsters and mobs

I'm at the very northern edge of the member world and creepers and skeletons keep spawning whenever I am looking in my chests and I keep having to punch them off of a cliff, is this normal for monsters to spawn on the surface?

How long have you played minecraft for? they spawn every were, when the spawning is not bugged

I had a mispercepton on the server, thanks for the sarcasm, it is because I had not seen a single monster on opticrafters smp until then unless it was a dungeon or abandoned mineshaft I thought that the server had a plugin that prevented monsters from spawning naturally.

And I also thought this because it wasn't like monsters spawning all over the place, it was just skeletons and creepers exclusively.
