Mojang has announced the release date of the Minecraft 1.3 which is set for August 1, 2012.
Now, a small reminder for all of you excited about playing the game, Backup your current minecraft.jar file BEFORE UPDTAING. Then you can have one minecraft.jar to play around with 1.3, and the other 1.2.5 jar to be able to play on Opticraft.
The server will remain in 1.2.5 until Bukkit updates, which can take days, or weeks.
-
Also keep in mind, the prerelease a week before will be identical according to jeb :P so that bukkit and mod developers can have some time to work on it before its out
-
How do I backup my current minecraft.jar?
-
Find your minecraft.jar and copy and paste it onto the desktop. Or simply don't update to the 1.3
-
Oh ok thanks a lot!
-
No worries.
-
I had a really old .jar, it was like alpha 1.2? or something like that before my HDD broke, but it did and I lost the backup :l so, if you're in love with a version, back it up more than I did :P
-
if you want there are databases online that contain all the previous versions.
