why is the mob culling plugin going bat-shit insane? it's killing all of my mobs! i had only 5 cows in an 11x11 area and they all died! i have no villagers in my villager farm because they all MYSTERIOUSLY disappear. I mean, this is kind of getting ridiculous. I used to love this server, but all of my mobs are dying. I think there are other ways of culling. like doing it per chunk, or culling only in excessive areas. I agree that opticraft is a great server, but the mob culling has only brought frustration and annoyance to me and the group of 6 players I represent. I love opticraft, but there are so many other options that AREN'T extreme. this is causing pain to me, nightdrop, bioboygamer, awesomedude069 machinegun_009 and hasee500 and this is an issue that we all deem nessicary to fix. please consider changing.

I have not been on in a while, but I have had one instance where all of my villagers but the ones in a special storage compartment were culled. However I have no proof that a player didn't find a way into my island walls, or that a zombie apocalypse didn't happen on a full moon for that, but I have my suspicions the plugin was responsible.

I do agree the plugin is a bit overactive, but if you have any way of proving a player didn't kill the animals then please post. The plugin I believe was never intended to kill everyone's animals, or other type of mobs.

After seeing this topic I popped on to see how my village was doing. It's back down to 4 villagers again. Out of the 30 that should be there I'd say the plugin is still being a little too aggressive.

My villagers roam free and I noticed very very few die, hasnt impacted me




OFFTOPIC : Just a pet peeve of mine..... this isn't culling, it's population control lol. Culling is when things are picked and selected for specific breeding qualities

i have protection stones covering every square. the only way in is a locked door
zombies cant spawn as the entire area is lit
down with plugins

=\ happened to me too people can use set home and /back to glitch their way in....

Not a good idea to post how people glitch into other people's homes, as they can use that ability to grief now.

Guys PRO TIP: don't hoard you villagers in a 1x1 space. This plugin is meant to reduce the lag not kill all of you villagers for no reason, give them open space and they will be just fine.

When it was broken everyone freaked out, I cant imagine what they would do if it was removed.

It's still broken abit xD. after all this is a survival server, /back is a privellage and should people exploit it,it should be temporary removed till fixed =p

I have an idea of how all these animals have died,

say in a 3x3 area there are 9 mobs. Thats too many mobs for that area, right?
So the plugin checks every 2x2 area in the 3x3 space. So, thats 9 times right? The areas that are checked are overlapped, and this all happens at the same time, so rather that a few dieing, its a big massacre...

I'm not sure if this is correct in any way, just a theory, an idea.

all I know is that I used to have alot of chickens... they all died... I replentished... they died... again I replentished... they died (I am running out of eggs)... now I only have 3 chickens... and at least they are alive... but the egg production is down to a minimal... it was my main source of food... and now feathers are limited too...

my villagers have 9 "love shacks" all 8x8 in a big area protected completely by protection stones
i dont know how they die
my chickens are almost all dead
my cows are dead
my villagers are dead
my sheep are barely hanging on
my mob farming ways are ruined
i only had 21 villagers at peak in a big area
i only had 40 chickens at peak in an 11x11 area
i had 14 cows at peak in it's own 11x11 area
i had 25 sheep at peak separated into two 11x11 areas
i had 2 pigs, and 15 at peak
I don't do the "1500 in 1 square" thing
nor do my activities lag the server (I think)
I usually depend on my mob farms for sustenance and so do my buddies
if the princes are misbehaving, flog the peasants...  :(

Just add a few floors of chicken farm with 4 chicken in each pen assuming u have 100 floor u will have 400 chicken >:3

    Well, I have a village that i keep closed with large cobble walls for security reason. My village was thriving until the new plugin came in. No way a zombie could've gotten in. It's very well lit on the inside and i have never seen another mob in there, give or take my chickens and an Iron Golem. No evidence of grief. Somehow, all my villagers died save one. I don't know how. I suspect this plugin.

I believe the way this plugin works is if there are 4 mods in a 2x2 area, it will kill all the mobs in that area.

 Have a 100x100 area, i had over 60 villages... Now i have 3, its super light theres not doors for griefers to get in its 100% protected with ps's im 99.99% sure its the plug in

Same happened to me and Terrewee, when we were first trying to populate our castle. Most of them disappeared...

I had eat controlled sheep farm. They had plenty of room in a square area. Half of them disappeared...

Less aggressive as in more mobs in a 2*2 area? If so how many mobs in a 2*2 area now?

The less agrissive thing gave me only 2 morre villagers in my 100x100 Glass dom, i use to have so many:(

There was certain parts of the Member world which would lag/crash people as of 80+ villagers colliding causing lag so I don't think it will.

If I remember correctly most villages had 100+ villagers in them matew had 200+... My island has only 30 villagers at the most.. And now a couple of iron golems

Can villagers be set to something around 16-20, do to a bug they all go in one corner so they all die :(
