Title: /msg and /r
Post by: ryans1230 on August 23, 2012, 02:55:35 pm
When ever I try to use /msg or /r, my message appears in chat as a normal message. If someone sends me a message and I type /r, it says no one messaged me. This only started happening with 1.3.1.

Yes, this glitch has been going on for a while.

Use /t <player> <message>, that still works.
Or /msg <player>
So it says "Now chatting with <player>"
Then type your message.
Hope this helped, they're the ways.
Oh, and probably /whisper
You'll have to cope with that 'till optical or cschurz fixes it...

Yeah, There is a problem with hero chat so right now you have to do what was suggested above. You could also use the other chat (I believe essentials) being /me but its not purple so can be hard to read/notice.

We are waiting for Hero Chat to fix the bug I believe.

Another command that can work to personal message someone is using the "@" key. First type @ <their name> then hit enter, then it will say "chatting with <their name>" Then you just type normally. To get out of the chat, type /pm. It will say that your returned to whatever channel you were in (Global, Trade, Local).

Once again this only works if you dont put a message after it. So if you forget, telling your mate about that OneDirection concert wont be so private anymore :P

(one direction are a BoyBand from Britain who fan base is 95% teenage girls, for those who dont know)
