Title: Problem with launcher.

When I open up minecraft and login it will go to the screen with singleplayer and multyplayer, but after about five seconds it just closes...Help!

Did you try force update? It might be an issue with a conflicting mod or corrupted code.

That's odd... try re-downloading the launcher and see if that'll work

Xeadin might be right about the launcher, but I don't think that would make minecraft itself close. You could try deleting your whole .minecraft folder (backing up screenshots/saves/stats) and totally restarting. If that fails, try updating/installing the latest java.

Actually, I downloaded it and installed it and now I it take about 10 seconds to close... Java 7 isn't it?

That's the latest version, yes. Are there any errors when it closes? Has anything like this happened before? It might even be a program that you have installed recently (if you have done), if so, did it do it before then or after then.

I use magic launcher, never have a single problem, plus you never even have to touch your jar, and if you want to allocate more ram its really easy
