Hi,
Earlier this evening my son was banned on my account by Scotty602AB for griefing. I know you have logs that automatically detect incidents of griefing, but I feel this ban was harsh.
Could you please provide details of the reasons behind banning?
Best regs,
Glitchmunki

@wyboth
I wasn't asking to be reinstated. I was asking why.
And while you're at it, why don't you read the post about unhelpful responses/trolling.

Unless you are SMP staff or involved in this, please do NOT post in this section. As it was stated,, please wait for Scotty

Scotty602AB is the mod who banned my username (glitchmunki).
I know he probably did grief some stuff up, but I don't know what exactly. I wanted to use this as an example to show him that he has to follow the rules as he didn't understand why he'd been banned.
He also got a lifetime ban, which seemed like an over the top reaction. Especially when historically griefers have made burning religious symbols and received less of a punishment.
Really I'd just like to know whether there was any dialogue before the ban.

I take it that it's usually a while before Mods get around to responding? ;)

I will notify him as soon as I see him. Please be patient.

Now glitch, i banned you permanently because you griefed several times, and the block counts destroyed were in general similar, and i warned you at least twice to stop, and i left you, but i vanished and continued to watch you grief, and as you obviously had no intention of actually playing on the server, your intention was to grief, so i banned you, permanently.
Here is one screenshot

Thanks Scotty, although I don't really appreciate the tone. As I've said in an earlier post I was after an explanation and the reason behind the ban. I was not looking for reinstatement, as I don't play on here and he has since told me that he knew he was griefing. So as far as I'm concerned the ban can stay in effect without affecting my life. It will teach him to be more careful!
One thing I would say is that although I understand you have many non-serious players come and go, the general attitude of the mods is of immediate discontempt toward others and flexing of authority - evidence of that is shown by the mod signatures.
Don't forget that the 'community' makes the 'community server'.
With the best regards,
Glitchmunki

actually most of our signatures involve amusing things people have said or done arround us.. it is not about flexing our power but people for some odd reason say very stupid things and we like to show off how stupid they are hence why we quot then directley

I found a little more grief by this user on supersquirtdude's home that was attached to sykesjacob's nether brick platform. I'm not sure what else has been damaged, but it's clear that this is just unacceptable. I'm not even sure if your son even knew who supersquirtdude was, but we're not going to risk letting the account go.
Sorry to say, but this ban is final.
