TNT that explodes, doesn't cause damage to blocks (which would be the case as explosion damage is disabled), and doesn't cause harm to players, BUT causes harm to NPCs.

I don't know how much priority this would get on Opticalza's list...but I do like the idea.

Umm, why would you need this? Anyway someone may find a way to glitch it. And it doesn't seem very useful.

How is it not useful?
Uses:
1. Mob traps
2. TNT Cannon
And it should probably only affect hostile mobs, just saying. It could be used to slaughter a farm. By the way, you couldn't really glitch this because explosion griefing is turned off.
-
To me, this seems like one of the most useless suggestions that I have seen in a while, but I do not want to be on the downside to this suggestion so I will look at it realistically. You want Optical to implement TNT, but remove almost everything that TNT does?
How is it not useful?
Uses:
1. Mob traps
2. TNT Cannon
3. Animal farms
1. Mob Traps? To me that seems like a total waste of TNT just to kill a few mobs on the off chance that they fall into your trap. Their AI now prevents them from falling in holes and such.
2. Isn't the point of a TNT cannon to destroy the target?
TNT that explodes, doesn't cause damage to blocks
3. And it should probably only affect hostile mobs, just saying.
Please explain this to me more, as I cannot fully understand your desire for TNT.
-
Well the idea sparked when I was in the_end and I was thinking to myself... What if TNT only caused damage to mobs. Not players, not land. We don't want indirect PVP nor grief from TNT, but by god that's a lot of endermen, and some TNT could possibly blow many of them sky high at a time for those ender pearls.
It would also be cool to have the TNT still have a "push" effect so someone could make a cannon that shoots players without killing them XD
-
It seems like all suggestions end with this answer from someone, but I'm just being realistic. I don't think this is going to happen, for only one reason.
It's not needed and pretty much pointless.
-
Not pointless. More like fun and useful. Would work well for killing many mobs at a time. Especially enderman in the End world.
-
As much as I would like this, it's not going to get enough priority.
-
I have never killed mobs with tnt... ever lol. I've used it to clear out areas, which is useful and fun. But yeah I don't like this lol
"It's tnt that doesn't do anything that tnt is useful for!"
-
in SP i always use tnt for mining, big chance for ore/cave
-
TNT damaging mobs? Griefers are going to use this to their advantage to kill other player's animals/ mobs.
Don't give griefers an edge, folks.

It should only affect hostile mobs if its even going to be implemented.
-
It would then be possible to make a TNT cannon and kill somones animals, and making it only for hostile mobs would be incredibly hard to program wouldn't it? And whats the point in that anyway? Might as well make a piston trap that pushes mobs off the Edge
-
It would be fun...
But I don't know if it would be allowed...
-
to use this to kill hostile mobs would be just a waste of materials. There are way easier ways to kill hostile mobs, like lava.
so no

Lava is disabled unless you're a mod+

I'm not mod+ and I own Lava City, I still get allowed to lava when I ASK
-
That's only mods and above placing the lava and entrusting its placement to you-- you're still not placing it yourself, so chief's statement still stands.
-
Tell ya what, Chief. You program the pluggin for this amazing and incredibly pointless entertainment/art form, and optical may, if he's willing to (unlikely), consider adding it. If you could also program it so that people don't use more than a few blocks at a time so that a griefer doesn't cause massive lagspikes, that would be great.
I apologize for my sarcasm, but I'm having trouble keeping a straight face over this one.
-
then just use a damm sword to kill the animals
-
This is pointless because we have enchanted swords and bows. Also zwaan it's damn not damm.
-
Its way too complicated
-
No way this will be implemented. As others have said in this topic, it would be a waste of Gunpowder. I'll give a few reasons why this wouldn't be good.
1.) Too much used can lag the server. No doubt it would even lag you out.
2.) It can be used to get revenge, say someone had some animals, and someone wanted to kill them, they can rig up that cannon and fire it at the mobs, thus complaining with animals being destroyed.
3.) As I agree with other people, it is pointless. you can just use potions, and/or just a damn enchanted sword to kill it. Otherwise , it would may be complicated to make, as TNT affects YOU as a player on the server, but not only kill you if you were afar from home.
-
Why not make TNT so i can't be go off at all.Changing it into non-active blocks like in classis

What are you talking about, have you even read the suggestion? TnT is already a 'non-active' block, as it doesn't explode upon lighting it.

Besides splash potions, what in God's name are you using your gunpowder for that makes you so afraid to waste it? I have a TON that I can't use for anything. I really like the idea of making TNT an inactive block, in the sense that we would be allowed to place it, but it would never go off.

As in a decorative block? That would make sense.
-
Yeah I think it would be ok as a decorative block, but as far as exploding at all, meh I don't think so.
-
I know there's bound to be someone that uses it as a decorative block, but really, who's honestly going to use it and think it looks good with anything?
-
The thing I think we should think about is the priority level of these suggestions. Most players are already complaining about pvp which is not an easy addition. Something small like this would be nice but wouldn't make as many players content.

What if we didnt have this?
