Post by: djbennyboy on March 03, 2013, 11:08:08 am

First of all, what's FTB stand for? And the easiest thing to do would be to keep a jar on your desktop without the mod and a jar in your bin with it for that server.

Feed The Beast.

FML is Forge Mod Loader: http://www.minecraftdl.com/forge-modloader-fml-mod/

I'm not sure why it's asking you to use FML, but here's what I'd do to fix it:
In start type %appdata% and navigate to your .minecraft folder. Backup all your saves/screenshots and delete your entire .minecraft folder. Just to make sure you're actually using the right client, go to https://minecraft.net/download and download the Minecraft client again. It should install a fresh .minecraft folder for you.

Let me know if this works.

Ok, so I have reason to believe that you're using the wrong client to connect to Opticraft, because unless you have mods installed, the vanilla Minecraft client will never ask you to install something.

Are you running Windows or a Mac? I'll happily walk you through what you need to do.

Our rules state that you cannot have any mods except Optifine, so perhaps you could use two different minecraft.jar files; one vanilla, one FTB. I don't know if this will work or not, as I have never attempted it, but I do know that playing Opticraft with FTB installed either won't work or will get you banned.

In simple terms... use magic launcher

No need to use Magic Launcher (although I recommend it) as FTB and vanilla use completely different folders in the %appdata% directory. Make sure that you use the vanilla launcher for regular minecraft eg. Opticraft and to use the FTB launcher only for FTB

Yes, that's correct. Just remember you can't connect to Opticraft using the FTB client, and you can't connect to the FTB server using the Minecraft client. Has your issue been solved?
