I am going to try to build this cat:

70x93
Progress: (http://www.opticraft.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FKs6sA.png&hash=1d31665b39afae9020123075b0e35f48)
Problem is, no worlds are tall enough for it....

Resize the picture.
-
no, full sized. :)
-
If you dont want to resize, atleast youll need pixeled pic, because you cant do it with so much colors like in the real pic.
You can try this if you want.

Toxic what program do you use to do that?
-
This in particular is made by photoshop, but it can be done with gimp too. I will make a tutorial on that soon so if you didnt find out by then, you can see it.

Damn, there is almost no loss in detail any more with grey-scales. Love it :)
btw, resizing doesn't necessarily mean a loss of detail. For this one I'd say it's not really necessary to make it full-scale.
Also, since this would be your first greyscale AND your first large one, know what you begin on, greyscales are not easy. Even though they might look easy, there are many different greys. I just checked it, in this particular picture, there are 29 different colours. I don't say you aren't capable of it, but I don't want another of those 'morten's face' projects, left half-done because the original maker doesn't feel like it any more. Just saying, 300x400 is 120k blocks... that's almost twice the amount of raul's painting, which has 64.5k

Damn, that's a lot.
My mom will be proud.

hmm thanks raul and monkey. I'll probably downsize it about 50% then.
