You first need to acquire the Recruit rank by building something in-game and asking an in-game Operator to review your build.

After that, you are able to build more creations to get to Builder rank. To apply for the rank, you need to submit an application to this forum (http://www.opticraft.net/index.php/board,5.0.html) by creating a new topic -- following this Builder Template (http://www.opticraft.net/index.php/topic,4.0.html) (it's important that you follow the template or else your application will be considered incomplete and instantly rejected).
The screenshots are also an important part of the process, following this thread (http://www.opticraft.net/index.php/topic,163.0.html) if you don't know how to do so.

Take a look at our Accepted Builder applications (http://www.opticraft.net/index.php/board,9.0.html) and some of the in-game builds to get an idea of what we look for. We value quality, effort, and originality in all builds-- not just a few.
