Spoilers are extremely helpful and important in a forum. It allows for easy organization while maintaining a small space to present all your information, without having to scroll down to view everything.

(I could have hid this HIDEOUS picture with a spoiler, so you don't have to ever see it against your will!)

for Example  here  (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,222773.0.html) and you will see that it's quite easy to scroll down & read the parts that you want to read.

It's also good for compressing images such as here (second post) (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,219979.15.html)

Mainly I'm asking for the spoilers because they can help me with my threads  here (The list of cities)  (http://www.opticraft.net/index.php/topic,7422.0.html) I can put spoilers under each city to display it's information, and with the compressed space, all the city's names can be seen, without anyone having to scroll down.

and for city threads such as  this one  (http://www.opticraft.net/index.php/topic,7423.0.html) I can easily hide the introductory text (With a spoiler of course) and spoiler the 'territory', the 'Stettin Public Radio' thing to group up all the information there, and I could easily & cleanly group up citizens & applications area.

Spoilers make it easy to organizing separate pieces of information (belonging to a main subject) Kind of like grouping up your work for school for example "school folder" then inside the school folder you have seperate folders for each topic, math, english ,science ect.

Also the examples I showed are SMF 2.0.2 | SMF © 2011, Simple Machines

Our forum uses SMF 1.1.16 (Part of the 1.1 series)
You can download the spoiler tags to add to the forums  here! :D  (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2330)

as you can see they have different versions for separate versions of the 1.1 series (Which we do have)

So pretty please? Can we see this button?

Would be nice to have, I wouldn't put it at the top of the list of things to do though.

I agree that would be a good idea but...the only place I've seen spoilers was a forum for a book.

I agree that would be a good idea but...the only place I've seen spoilers was a forum for a book.

What do you think this is? not a forum? and I just provided a download link after nyssa's message was posted. So this is an incredibly easy thing to do (Or so I assume)

Well for Opti being so busy with work and the ps bug and everything else he has to do it wouldn't be top of the list, he could find a minute to do it I suppose.
I don't know if dejected could do it or not though.

I have a new thread that will be coming up in a week or three, and it will be extensive, and would have a mess that would only be fixed by adding the 'spoiler' tag buttons.

A reaaaaally extensive thread, with a few history paragraphs, a few rules paragraphs, a collection of pictures, and an application forum, and so on and forth (if you know what I'm talking about please don't mention it. and If you don't know, don't ask)

I'm pretty sure this wouldn't take that long.

It only increases lifespan and general health when you aren't on the staff XD

i would love it for hiding pics so you dont have to remove the [img/] [img] things so you could just put it in a /spoiler and it would be clickable

Well for images it would be as usualy

then you click the spoiler, and all the images pop out, you click the spoiler again, and it hides all of them, so you don't have to scroll down.

I used to play maplestory private servers, and spoilers were the most important thing in the forum. I had a huge number of file edits with pictures, links, and descriptions for each one. It was probably 1/50th of the size because of it. Every forum I'm on has them, I was surprised to see this one didn't.

Anyone who has a thread with multiple parts (city threads, compilations, etc) find spoilers aesthetically pleasing and easy to organize.

I support this cause.

I strongly agree.

Although refraining from doing that always works. But just for long forum posts could always use spoilers.

I have a big, and in depth city thread coming up. But we're waiting on the spoiler tag to arrive before we can do it. We simply can't afford a tacky city thread :P

Looks like spoilers don't work right when there is no text below them. Conclusion - make sure spoilered text isn't the last thing in your post.
