Okay, here are some questions I wan't awswered:
Has the member+ world come out yet?
How do you get to the new member+ world?
-
That is still being worked on, it is not out yet.
-
Okay, thanks for the answer.
-
I had thought the current world was the member+ world. In optical's announcement they said they would be adding a beginner/guest world. The wording says that means the current world is the member+ world and the new world will be the guest world. I could be wrong though, it could be a miscommunication
-
Optical is keeping the current world as the "Member and Above" world. He is adding a second "Guest" world for all new players to start off in.
-
Xeadin, I have heard different from different players, including MOD+...
I'm confused too.
-
I've heard that members+ is a new world, and guests get the old one. Possibly Xeadin got confused, or we heard wrong?

That is what he 'officially' said. Go check out the Server News forum if you don't believe me.

Just to clear some things up.
Optical did mention in the Server News that the new world is for guests, but while talking to him on mumble he said that the new world will be for Member+
I can see how people would get confused.

I'm not doubting you at all Zeadin, its more things like this

that make us all confused.
-
Makes perfect sense to keep the current world as the member+.
Alot of people have some epic creations here, alot of hours spent.
Also having a clean, fresh starting point will hook players in that join the server.
Also, I think that members+ can ( when the new world is implemented ) tidy up our current world by just making it look nice around where you /sethome.

That's an odd flip-flop... :-\

Agreed
-
But i did hear that the world now will be the guests too
-
Keeping on topic with the new world, I believe that member+ (Or possibly trusted+, if members are not... well... trusted enough) should get 2 /sethomes, as there will be 2 new worlds. Guests should keep the 1, and possibly donaters could do something like 2 more for $10? (Unlimited number)

I have spoken with Nick and Optical (Last night), and the new world that is coming out will be Members+, and guests will still be in this current one.
I know it's gotta suck for the people who has amazing builds there, but what's the point when all the surroundings look like crap.
-
I have to move everything. -.-
But hooray for a fresh start!

Great news for others (like me) who plan to make underground domes with a diameter of 101..... ::)
-
When optical made the server news post, he planned on making th new world the guest world, but after talking to relkeb and I, we decided to make the new world the member+ world. But even this could change, Not all decisions are final.
-
I think that without poeple messing stuff up, we can improve the current world pretty quick.
-
Well i'll stop all building and searching until a decision is made :)
-
I actually like the fact that the new world will be the member+ world, for a few reasons.
1) The land isn't covered with grief.
2) Updated Biomes, you shouldn't have to go 4000+ blocks out to find the new Biomes.
3) A clean slate, which for large-scale planners like me is always a plus.
4) No/Low grief, which I think everyone agrees is a huge plus.
While it might be nice to give the guests a world they can destroy while preserving ours, lets face facts... Our current world is pretty destroyed. I'd agree with Optical that the smart move is just hand the current world to the guests and let the members create a paradise on a fresh canvass.
-
Okay, I found another reason for making the current world the member world:
if guests come to a torn up, ugly world they will begin bad-mouthing it, giving it bad ratings and such. Opticraft will become one of the worst servers according to the Internet.

You must not have been on many servers, because the same thing exists on pretty much every high-rated server out there. As soon as you're away from the spawn protection the griefing and destruction is on a massive scale. That's why it's so important to have a great "spawn city" because it's that city which gives your players their first impression.

How did you know this was the first server I've spent more than one weekend playing on?
-
I have a question, current world will be the guest world but, will you delete all the stuff we built there and recreate the jungles, terrain etc.? If so, there will be no difference between the new world and the old world and it will be worst for us.
-
no spamming is the rule

That would be like giving a new map for guests, which isn't happening. Nothing is going to change in the current world.
-
Wtf so if they make a new world for the members+ then if i don't want to play with noobs then i have to leave my giant mansion and start all over. I think the new world should be for guests.
-
The current world's caves have all been sucked up to a pulp, everything around/near spawn and warps is griefed to the ground.

I disagree 100% on the caves. I'm constantly going through caves and finding TONS of materials from Iron and Gold right up to Diamonds. There are a ton of materials hidden behind the walls. Last time I went on a cave expedition (which involves doing some shafting off the cave walls) I came out with over 6 stacks of iron, 3 stacks of gold, a full stack of diamond, and no less than 10 stacks of coal...
...and no, that's not off in the middle of nowhere. It was less than 2000 blocks away from the spawn. If you want materials go prospecting for them. Don't just run through caves looking at the walls and expecting to find valuables sitting there waiting for you. Mind you, I'm still finding a ton of iron and coal in caves that have already been searched (torches lighting them already).
-
Don't forget there are random mineral veins nowhere near caves.
-
Exactly :D I never go looking in caves for ore, you just have to know what depth to be at :P
